Limestone Athletics

Junior defender Spencer Wims (Waltham, Mass) and junior midfielder Mike Poerstel (Annapolis, Md.) have been named to the USILA Division II All-America Team. Wims was selected to the First Team, while Poerstel received Honorable Mention honors. Wims was also the only player from the Southern Region to be selected to the First Team.

Wims, who marks the opposing team's top attackman for a defensive unit that allows just 7.19 goals per game, was named for the first time during his three years as a starter for Limestone. Wims caused 9 turnovers on the season, scored 2 goals and picked up a team high 29 ground balls.

Poerstel, honored as an All-America selection for the first time, was second on the team in assists with 9, third on the team in goals with 26, while picking up 26 groundballs. Poerstel posted a career-high five points, including a personal-best four goals, in a 14-8 victory over Queens and later tied the output in a 13-0 win against Lees McRae.

No. 6 Limestone (10-4, Conference Carolinas 4-1), which won the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship for the ninth time in the last ten years, completed their season against No. 2 CW Post in the NCAA DII semifinal contest.
