Samantha Johnson (Summerville, S.C.), Kassi Boedeker (Phoenix, Ariz.), Sharen Mitchell (Greer, S.C.), and Tierney Burdett (Peoria, Ill.) will take to the court for the Lady Saints.

Johnson, a 6-foot middle hitter, is a junior transfer from Spartanburg Methodist College. She was a four-year letterwinner at Summerville High School. Boedeker is also a junior transfer. The 5-foot 11-inch outside hitter played for South Mountain Community College in Arizona. Her team tied for fifth place in the AAAA Division 1 State tournament in her junior and senior seasons. She was named First-Team All-Region in 2005. Boedeker helped her club team to a regional championship and a regional runner-up finish. Her club squad also competed in the national championships on three occasions. Boedeker will graduate from SMCC with an associate’s degree in fine arts, and will major in athletic training at Limestone. She is the daughter of Rita Boedeker.

Mitchell attended Greer High School where she started for the varsity team as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She was named All-Region and served as a team captain as a junior and senior. She played club ball for Club South for four years. She was named First-Team All-Region in 2009, and captained her teams during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Mitchell is a member of the National Honor Society and received the South Carolina High School League Scholar Athlete Award. She will see playing time as a defensive specialist for Limestone. Her parents are Shayne and Karen Mitchell. She plans to major in chemistry.

Burdett is no stranger to Limestone as she played for the Lady Saints basketball team for the last two seasons. She set a new school record with 77 3-pointers and a 43.8 field-goal percentage in 2008-09. Burdett, who played two seasons of basketball at Illinois Central College, attended Brimfield High School.
