MEN'S LACROSSE RATED NO. 1 IN CONFERENCE POLL

HIGH POINT, N.C.—The Limestone College men’s lacrosse team is ranked No. 1 in the 2010 Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as released by the league office on Wednesday.The Saints are coming off a 2009 season that included a 10-4 overall record (4-1 conference) and an NCAA Division II semifinal appearance. The 2010 Saints are eager to defend their conference tournament championship title and return to the NCAA tournament.

As usual, expectations are high for Limestone as the squad is ranked No. 5 in the Lacrosse Magazine NCAA Division II national preseason poll and No. 6 in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Division II national preseason poll.
 
The Saints will have a strong team on the field, anchored by four preseason All-Americans: defender Spencer Wims (C) (Waltham, Mass.), attackman Thomas Langan (Potomac, Md.), midfielder Mike Poerstel (Annapolis, Md.), and midfielder Teddy Prager (Seaford, N.Y.).
Queens University was picked to finish second, followed by Belmont Abbey and Pfeiffer.  Lees-McRae and St. Andrews tied for fifth. 

Limestone will begin the regular season on February 13 in Orlando, Fla., at the Face-Off for a Cause Tournament. The Saints will play New York Tech at 12 p.m.
